Students of all Spanish language levels are welcome in this intensive Spanish language program. Quickly improve your Spanish reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Only Central College offers small tutoring sessions in our Granada center. Cross-cultural sessions on diverse aspects of Spain help you understand your immersion experience.
The intensive language program is aimed at linguistic and social immersion using your own personal experiences. Students receive four hours of instruction daily. Tutoring services are available upon request. Classes are held at the University of Granada's Center for Modern Languages, two modern facilities which are equipped with language laboratories, a library, video rooms, lounges, study areas. The center is housed in both the restored Palacio de Santa Cruz and the Huerta de los Angeles building, in the heart of the old city of Granada.
Enjoy tree-shaded public squares, cobblestone pedestrian streets and the magnificent hilltop palace of the medieval Arab rulers of Granada, the Alhambra. The mountains of the Sierra Nevada and the beaches of the Mediterranean are both less than an hour away by public transportation.
Students live in a comfortable Spanish home with their host families, where they will experience complete immersion into the Spanish language and culture. Host families provide breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Most Spanish families take pride in their cooking and in their traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
In addition to overnight trips to the cities of Cordoba, Seville and the coastal town of Salobreña, you will visit nearby sites to view the art and culture of Granada.
