Fun fact about yourself: I was born in Akron, Ohio, the same town as LeBron James
Why did you choose Central? I chose Central because whenever I came to campus for a visit or heard from anyone about Central, I found a new way to fall in love with this amazing place! The professors truly care about your well-being, and students are caring, motivated people who form tight-knit communities through their everyday activities on campus!
Have you studied abroad, or do you plan to? I plan to study abroad in London during my junior year and to participate in an internship towards my major
What are your future goals? I plan to obtain my degree, get a job in my field of study and utilize all the skills Central has taught me
What activities do you participate in on and off campus? I participate in the A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers. I am an SOS Orientation Leader, a student Admission Ambassador, and a member of the music service organization Mu Gamma Pi
What has been your favorite class? Microeconomics, because it is very relevant in talking about financial markets in a real-world setting
Who has been your favorite professor? Why? My favorite professor is Robert Franks, professor of Computer Science, because he is always challenging me with new and fascinating topics regarding computers and how they work independently and in an ecosystem. Also, he is always willing to help me with my struggles in this subject
Have you done any internships? Do you plan to? This summer I have a job in the Central Communications Office where I help to build and design the Central website
Hobbies/Interests: Computers, Technology and Singing
Favorite food in Central Market: For dessert, I love the caramel bars. For the main course, I love the Kids Buffet, which features Mac and Cheese, chicken fingers, and smiley face french fries!
What has been your favorite memory so far? My first Christmas Candlelight concert. It is such a magical experience to see the communities of Central, Pella, and the greater Des Moines area coming out to support the choir and Central during such a magical time of year.
What do you like about your major? I like my major because it is a field of study that is constantly changing for the better and the worse. Every day, new innovations come out to make our lives easier and more connected. This field also allows for constant experimentation and pushing boundaries to see what is possible
What book are you currently reading? I am currently reading the Central College common read: “Make Your Home Among Strangers” by Jennie Capo Crucet
What are your plans after graduation? Get a job and start my post-college life
