Originally a detective, Joe Brummel felt called to pursue a degree at New Brunswick Seminary where he earned his Master’s in Divinity. He pastored churches in near Holland, Iowa, and Prairie City, Iowa, before joining the Central community. During summer months, Joe and his wife lead church camps around the state of Iowa, many of which minister to disadvantaged youth who have parents in prison. In his spare time, Joe enjoys reading, refinishing furniture, and playing with his grandchildren.
Hannah Laflin ’16

Hannah Laflin ’16 graduated from Central College in 2016 with majors in sociology, pre-nursing and art. While at Central College, she was part of the Central College volleyball team, worked as a resident assistant, and studied abroad in Wales. During her time at Central, she became involved in campus ministry leadership and enjoyed going on mission trips to Texas and Haiti. After graduating in 2016, Hannah returned home to Arizona and worked as a preschool/kindergarten teacher. Hannah enjoys volunteering with kids, spending time with family and traveling.
