High school can be a tough balancing act between classes, sports, social pressures, family and trying to navigate everyone’s expectations. At the same time it can be an amazing opportunity to lead, if you know how!
Central College is pleased to host the inaugural Iowa Leadership Academy this summer. This is a unique opportunity for high school student-athletes interested in learning how to become a better leader.
Is this you? Do you...
If so, our Iowa Leadership Academy Summer Athlete Leadership Camp experience is designed for you.
Leaders are not born, they are made, and unfortunately, the necessary experiences to learn and improve your leadership abilities are rare. This one-of-a-kind experience allows you to not only learn, but practice these new skills alongside other energetic Iowa high school students just like yourself.
Held on the beautiful Central College campus in Pella, the Iowa Leadership Academy is run by Andy Campbell, a professor of management, former college basketball coach, and, many years ago, a high school athlete like yourself.
In the two-day, overnight experience, hear from guest speakers who have excelled athletically as well as in leadership roles; learn important leadership lessons, practice your new-found abilities through safe and fun experiences with your peers; and leave with the energy and leadership to make positive changes in your life and the lives of those who you will lead.
Leadership doesn’t have to be a painful process that separates you from your friends, in fact it should draw others closer to you in friendship and respect. Learn how at the Iowa Leadership Academy Athlete Leadership Camp at Central College, June 20-21, 2014.
