Central will once again host its “Fun with Food” day camp
Fun with Food Camp is a chance for 8 to 12-year-olds to delve into food awareness with field trips to area farms and hands-on activities including lessons on gardening, cooking, and healthy eating.
Attendees will get to grow food in Central College’s campus garden, take field trips to meet local farmers and food producers, try new foods from around the world, and cook healthy, delicious meals each day. This week-long day camp will be a fun-filled chance to make friends, learn about food and nutrition and make meaningful connections.
The camp will run daily from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. July 29 – August 2.
The week will culminate with a team cooking competition pairing campers with professional staff from Central College Dining.
Transportation to and from Des Moines will be available for $25.00 for the week.
Cost: $180.00 per person
