Canceled – High School Instrumental Music Camp

This camp has been canceled for 2021.  It will be back in 2022.

The four-day Central College Instrumental Music Camp is for high school musicians (students entering 9th grade in fall 2021 to graduating seniors) interested in sharing an exciting musical environment with other musicians on Central’s beautiful campus.

All campers will also receive hands-on training in music notation and technology, conducting, music history, secondary instruments, masterclasses, lessons, chamber ensembles, concert band, and Caribbean steel drums culminating with a final Thursday performance.

Percussion

Students will explore, perform and develop their skills and techniques on mallet percussion, concert percussion, world percussion, marching percussion, masterclasses and lessons.

Winds & Brass

Students will explore, perform, and develop skills in large ensembles and chamber ensembles while also developing their individual skills and techniques through master classes and lessons.

Strings

Students will develop skills in chamber ensembles and performance through participation in small groups while developing technique and musicality in master classes and lessons.

COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place

This will be a day camp, running from 9a.m. – 5p.m. each day.  Camp begins with registration at 9 a.m. on Monday, June  7 and will end by 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 10.
