Please note if you are performing with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, you will not need a ticket to Saturday night’s concert. However, any guests coming with you to the event will have to
have a ticket to gain entrance into Douwstra! Click the button at the bottom of this page

Join the Symphonic Wind Ensemble as we celebrate the grand opening of the revitalized and renovated Douwstra Auditorium! The arts are alive and thriving at Central College and this new concert hall promises a bright future. Distinguished music alumni, Emory Dease ’07, Justin Von Ahsen ’11 and Dick Redman ’76 will provide musical inspiration, as will Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands Dr. Mitchell Lutch.
The wind ensemble will perform music that has been central to our wind band tradition during the past 86 years. The A Cappella Choir, under the direction of Professor Mark Babcock ’91 will also perform during the concert with both groups joining forces to close the program.
9 a.m. Coffee time, Graham Room 1
11 a.m. Tailgate under the big tent – $11 at the gate
3 p.m. SWE Alumni Rehearsal, Douwstra Stage
4 p.m. Rehearse with current SWE, Douwstra Stage
5 p.m. Post-game party – $15 includes heavy hors-doeuvres, pay at the door
7:30 p.m. Concert
