Danny will have copies of his book available for you to purchase at the book signing from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in The Spirit Shoppe located in the Maytag Student Center.

Everyone has a network, and in today’s interconnected world, networking happens all the time.

The Ties that Bind provides strategies and ideas for anyone, from those new to networking to seasoned professionals, in an easy-to-follow, story-telling guide.

                         This Class is FULL!!!!

Dr. Russ Benedict, professor of Biology at Central College, has been bird watching for the last 39 years and teaches Ornithology. Learn the mechanics of how flight works, the incredible modifications of the body that make flight possible, and how to feed birds at home.. This class is great for beginners as well as experienced birders. Enjoy a field trip to the Red Rock area to view the birds in their natural habitat. Transportation will be available for the Saturday field trip. This class is limited to 30 people.

Doug Wilson, whose father, grandfather, and great grandfather were all involved in Iowa underground coal mining, will share photos from his extensive collection of old black-and-white photographs, plus maps and personal information acquired during interviews with coal miners and their families. Born in Knoxville, IA, Wilson is now retired after many years of work with Vermeer Corporation in Pella.

Iowa is a treasure trove of architectural styles. Molly Naumann is an architectural historian who works as a historic preservation consultant with municipal, county and regional governments as well as private property owners across the state, helping them to identify and preserve their local historic resources. Molly holds BA and MA degrees in Art History from the University of Iowa. She has been self-employed as an architectural historian since 1979 and has worked in 49 of Iowa’s 99 counties conducting survey and evaluations for local governments and the State Historical Society of Iowa. Within the past 6 years Molly has gained true “hands-on” preservation experience as the first president of the Main Street Ottumwa board of directors, and as the owner of a historic building (currently undergoing rehabilitation) in downtown Ottumwa.
