U.S. Ambassador (Retired) Bernadette Allen was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as U. S. Ambassador to The Republic of Niger in 2006.  She also served in that capacity under President Barack Obama until her retirement in 2010.  Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and John Kerry appointed her respectively, in 2013 and 2015, to the Foreign Service Grievance Board.  In May 2010, she completed a 30 year Foreign Service career at the U.S. Department of State, after assignments in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.  Ambassador Allen will share highlights from her 30 year diplomatic career.
