Author John Price speaks at Writers Reading series Nov. 5

PELLA — Author John Price will speak at Central College’s fall 2009 Writers Reading series Thursday, Nov. 5. Price will read from his memoir Man Killed by Pheasant in the Geisler Library Reading Room at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Man Killed by Pheasant is nonfiction writing about nature, family and spirit. Price’s work has appeared in many publications, including the Christian Science Monitor and Best Spiritual Writing 2000

Price is a recipient of a creative writing fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. He is an associate professor of English at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. 

Prior to the reading, Central College will host an international dinner with a West African theme titled A Visit to Ghana. Cost is $15 per person, $5 for children 6-10 and children under 6 years of age are free. For reservations, contact Treva Reimer at reimert@central.edu or call 641-628-5334.

The Geisler Library Writers Reading series was established in 1987 to promote an appreciation of books and their authors and features locally, nationally and internationally known writers reading and discussing their works.
