Languages and Study Abroad
Central College's study abroad programs are widely respected and draw students from many other institutions across the country. Language majors are encouraged to spend at least one semester abroad as part of the major. Central offers language programs in:

The program in Merida also caters to students who are not language majors, offering classes in English taught by Central faculty, as well as different levels of Spanish language classes as needed. In addition, students who participate in the program in Leiden, the Netherlands have the opportunity to study Dutch. As of the spring of 2003, students also have the opportunity to study Chinese in Hangzhou, China. Many students who were at first hesitant about spending an extended time in another country report their semester or year abroad to be one of the highlights of their whole college experience.
