Spanish Language Assistants
Most of our Spanish language assistants study in either Granada, Spain or Mérida, México, the sites where we have our study abroad programs. For the past three years we have also had an assistant from another Mérida--Mérida, Venezuela. This gives students the opportunity to become accustomed to three of the many variants of European peninsular and Latin American Spanish. It also lets those who are planning to study abroad get to know someone from the place where they'll be studying and learn more about what life will be like for them there, as well as giving continued contact with the experience for students who have returned from one of the programs. The Spanish language assistants live in the Spanish House, where they and the other students who live there can interact and learn from each other on a daily basis.
