| Students who study languages have the opportunity to live in the
Language Houses of the Wing International Center where they
share a townhouse living environment with other students who speak the same language as well
as the native-speaker language assistants. There are a French
House, a German
House and two Spanish
Houses where students enjoy a variety of language and cultural activities
such as movies, dinners, parties or just hanging out and speaking the language.

COMPLETE GUIDELINES FOR HOUSE RESIDENTS
WHO CAN LIVE IN THE LANGUAGE HOUSES?
The language houses are honors housing for sophomores, juniors and seniors who speak French, German or Spanish at the intermediate level or higher and who are interested in languages and cultures of the world.
DO I HAVE TO BE ENROLLED IN A LANGUAGE CLASS?
If you are at the intermediate level, you should be enrolled in a language class during the time you live in the house. If you are at the advanced level (i.e. you've completed 221 and 222 or placed beyond it), you are not required to be enrolled in a class although it is recommended. Some students choose to live in the house to maintain their language skills after studying abroad. Others live there because they enjoy other languages and cultures even though their schedules don't allow them to continue their language studies at the time.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IF I LIVE IN A LANGUAGE HOUSE?
To speak the language in the house
To participate in the activities of the house and club
To attend the language table in the cafeteria for the evening meal (held Monday-Thursday)
To be involved in campus-wide efforts aimed at "worldwise" education
CAN I GET CREDIT FOR LIVING IN A LANGUAGE HOUSE?
Yes, you can enroll for 1/2 credit per semester. See your language professor for details.
