Title of Position: Graphic Designer

Central College invites applications for the position of Graphic Designer. This position is directly responsible to the Director of Marketing and Media Relations for the design and layout of Central's marketing publications.

The Graphic Designer creates and designs publications that support the messages of the college for, but not limited to, development, alumni, student recruitment, athletics and Central College Abroad. The successful candidate will uphold the identity and quality presentation of the college; develop and design ads for regional and national publications and magazines; produce finished artwork and final layout on Mac-based computer systems; oversee publications through final printing, including proofing of color keys and press checks; art direct photo shoots and collaborate with professional photographers; collaborate with on-campus clients to develop integrated design elements and standards to achieve desired publication goals; interact with and direct off-campus print professionals, artists, photographers and printing sales representatives. Continuous professional development and research on cutting-edge design trends will be crucial in this position.

Qualifications include Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent with a minimum of two years of experience in publications/communications field preferred. Must be grounded in design theory and principles. Must have excellent visual and oral communication and problem-solving skills. Experienced in Mac OSX and computer programs including InDesign, Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office for Mac.
