POSITION: Assistant Professor of Accounting

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, tenure track appointment beginning August 2010

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a MBA/MA in accounting with CPA/CMA designations. Candidates with college teaching experience and /or holding a Ph.D. in accounting will be given preference.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to teach an auditing course and other courses among the following: introductory financial and managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, advanced financial accounting, tax accounting, accounting information systems or advanced managerial accounting. The normal teaching load is 21-23 semester credit hours per academic year.

DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT/ECONOMICS/ACCOUNTING: The departments of economics, accounting and business management consists of four distinct majors: accounting, economics, international management, and business management. In collaboration with the math/computer science department, the department also offers interdisciplinary majors in management information systems and actuarial science. The department has nine full-time faculty: three in economics, two in accounting, and four in business management. Business management is the largest major in the department, and offers emphasis areas in five different fields: finance, marketing, business administration, business education, and business economics.

Central College is a residential liberal arts college guided by an ecumenical Christian tradition, serving over 1600 students. Founded in 1853, the college is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America and NCAA Division III athletics.
