TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, tenure track appointment beginning August 2008.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Physics, preferably in an experimental area, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach standard undergraduate physics courses at introductory and advanced levels, physics laboratories, and courses serving non-science students, such as Introductory Astronomy and Energy and Environment. The Department of Physics offers a major and minor in physics and participates in a dual-degree engineering program. This results in a B.A. degree in physics from Central College and a B.S. degree in engineering from the university. The department of physics is housed in a recently expanded and remodeled LEED-certified science building that also includes the departments of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science.
