POSITION:  Assistant Professor of Exercise Science

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, tenure track appointment beginning August 2008

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications include a terminal degree in exercise science or related discipline (ABD may be considered), expertise in exercise science, health promotion, health education, adult fitness, and assessment and programming for diverse populations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to exceptional teaching and mentoring in a dynamic exercise science major. The normal teaching load is seven courses per year. Courses could include: substance abuse, stress management, human sexuality, and fitness after fifty. The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to participation in our First-Year-Experience program, and have the capacity to advance and/or initiate interdisciplinary ventures.

DEPARTMENT OF EXERCISE SCIENCE: The department has nine members, six with tenure tracks and three with dual responsibilities in athletics and exercise science. The department offers an exercise science major with programs in physical education, health promotion and athletic training.
