College and Community
Central College, a liberal arts college of approximately 1700 students, was founded in 1853. Central's student enrollment is the ideal size to attract excellent faculty and provide a varied academic and extra-curricular program, yet maintain small campus intimacy for a campus community drawn from 37 states and 17 foreign countries. Central is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, but many religious backgrounds are represented.

Pella is a pleasant community of over 10,000 people, proud of its Dutch heritage and famous for its annual tulip festival. The campus is just 38 miles Southeast of Des Moines, the state capitol, and easily accessible to entertainment and cultural events. Four miles away is the 13,000-acre Red Rock Reservoir and accompanying water recreation facilities.
