We believe that financing college costs is a three way partnership between Central College, the student, and the parent.

Our goal is to make Central accessible to as many families as possible.

100 percent of all new students who sought financial assistance received some type of aid. Affording Central College is a reality.

Average New Freshman Financial Aid Award (2009-10): $24,274 including scholarships, grants, work study, and federal student loans for first year students.

Investing in your education is the best economic decision you can make.

Educational Investment
We understand in these economic times you may have concerns about college affordability and your educational investment. Please be assured Central College is committed to doing all we can to assist you and your family during this unprecedented time in our nation's economy.

Scholarships and Grants
Central awards financial aid to families from all different economic situations. All students are awarded some type of scholarship or grant.

FAFSA
Be sure to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1st.

Loan Information
Many Central families take advantage of federal loans to help finance college. Be assured that the federal government has allocated dollars for students and families and have reduced requirements for receiving funds. Students must file a FAFSA to be considered for low interest government student loans and the “PLUS” loan (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students). Numerous types of loans for college students and parents are available.

Monthly Payment Plan
Central offers a monthly, interest-free payment plan. This gives you the flexibility of paying over several months rather than in one payment.

Financial Aid Appeal Forms
Should your family financial situation change after you have completed the FAFSA form, please notify our Financial Aid Office and click here for forms to document your situation. Changes may be considered both before and during the academic year.

Tax Relief
Tax Relief options may be available to you. Check with your accountant or tax preparer to determine your eligibility. The Hope credit and Lifetime Learning credit are both doubled for 2008 and 2009 for parents whose adjusted gross incomes are within the defined limits.
