Dates and Deadlines for 2011-12

Planning to begin at Central in the fall of 2012? Check out the dates below to help you you keep everything on track!

You can submit the FAFSA anytime after Jan. 1 at fafsa.gov.ed. Go to pin.ed.gov to get your pin number to submit the FAFSA online. Central's FAFSA code is 001850.
January 14

Scholarship deadline for incoming new freshman!! To be eligible to compete in Central Scholar Day, all material - application, transcripts, and test scores - must be sent to Central College by 5:00 p.m. on January 14.

February 4, 11, 18
Central Scholar Days for incoming freshman - academic scholarship competition.
February 4, 11, 18
Audition/interview dates for Central Awards (interest-based scholarships). You may also schedule an individual appointment.
February 18
Last day to audition/interview and postmark deadline for Central Awards.
By March 1

Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov for priority consideration. Central FAFSA code is 001850. Click here for tips on completing the FAFSA.

March-April
Central financial aid packages mailed.
April 1-2
Admitted Student Open House for incoming new freshman.
By May 1
Candidates' reply date for admission.
Notify Central of your decision to attend by submitting a $200 nonrefundable enrollment deposit along with a signed copy of your financial aid award. You can also access your financial aid online at go.central.edu.
By June 1

Complete student loan paperwork:

1. First time student borrowerr should complete master promissory note for the Stafford subsidized or unsubsidized federal student loan.

2. First time student borrowers - complete loan entrance counseling.

3. Parents: Apply for the parent PLUS loan (part1) and complete master promissory note (step 2).

4. Parents/Students: If needed, apply for alternative loans. These loans are only to be used as a last resort after all other options (savings, work, etc.) have been exhausted. These loans generally take 4-6 weeks to process.

For students eligible for TEACH grant:

Students: Fill out the agreement to serve and entrance counseling here.

Prior to summer orientation
Ask high school (and colleges if transfer student) to send final transcript(s) to Admission Office.
June 15
Sign up for monthly payment plan (optional).
June 18-21 and July 9
Summer orientation for all incoming students (new freshman and transfer students)!
By July 1
Iowa students! Deadline to file the FAFSA to be eligible for the Iowa Tuition Grant.
By July 15
Housing assignments will be mailed.
By August 1

Complete/return following forms:

- health/physical form

- proof of insurance

Click on the Waive Coverage button under Central College.
Complete the waiver form and submit.

- student athlete insurance form (if student athlete)

- work study form (if awarded workstudy)

- outside scholarship form (if applicable)

August 15
Fall semester bill due (unless you have chosen monthly payment plan).
August 18
New students move-in and start classes! Check out the Welcome Week schedule.
