Presented a paper, “W. B. Yeats’s Appropriation of Shakespeare,” April 17-23, at the World Shakespeare Congress, Valencia, Spain.
Was part of a reading by poets published in Volume #20 of Sidewalks in Minneapolis, June 26.
Participated in the Arts Across the Curriculum faculty workshop in the early summer, led by Treva Reimer, and revised courses appropriately.
Was a member of the First-year experience task force that met in July.
As a result of a Faculty Research and Development grant, traveled to Stratford, England (July 23-27) and Sligo, Ireland (July 30-Aug 2). He worked in the libraries at the Shakespeare Centre and the Shakespeare Institute regarding the work of Frank Benson and his possible influence on W. B. Yeats, and in Sligo he attended various lectures and consulted with authorities in connection with the Yeats Summer School.
Presented a paper at the Blackfriars Conference in Staunton, Virginia (“The Contemporary Voicing of the Elizabethan Line: Stage Up (un) staging Page”) this fall in connection with the grand opening of the Shenandoah Shakespeare’s new permanent theatre.
Has poems appearing in the Mid-America Review (Missouri) Nimrod (Oklahoma) ,and The Squaw Review, available soon in fine bookstores everywhere.
