What courses should I take my Freshman year?

During the Freshman year, you will take core courses that comprise our liberal arts foundation at Central College. All Freshman take Intersections--a course designed to learn about transitioning to college and how to begin your journey for life-long learning. In addition to the Intersections course, you can take other core courses such as religion, math, history, English, science, and literature. As you plan for a degree in teacher education during your Freshman year, you will take Foundations of Education. Following the Foundations of Education course and application to the Education Department, subsequent courses typically taken during the Freshman year include: Exceptional Children, Introduction to Instructional Technologies, Human Relations, and possible courses for a specialization area in teaching.
