Scholarships - Opening doors of opportunity
The highest priority within The Campaign for Central Phase I was to create more endowed scholarships for students. As the value of a Central degree has increased over the years, so has its cost. Central is committed to keeping the doors of opportunity open and making education affordable to all who qualify.
Central Fund Scholarships
Gifts given to The Central Fund may be designated for scholarships which will be awarded annually in the year following the donation. Funds designated for scholarships may be given in the name of an individual or the donor when given at a level of $1,000 or greater. Annual funds designated for scholarships at the $5,000 level and above may specify award criteria, such as location or major.
Endowed Scholarships
The minimum gift to create a named, endowed scholarship fund is $25,000
and can be donated as a lump sum, pledged over several years, or as part
of a planned gift. Endowments which are not yet fully-funded can be
accompanied by current gifts to allow the scholarship to be awarded for
the next academic year.
Gifts to the general endowed scholarship fund or to existing endowed funds can be of any size.
One of the major priorities of the college is to create more endowed scholarships for students. The following scholarships were created during Phase I of the campaign. Some of these were created with planned gifts and will be awarded sometime in the future.
