Finding graduate programs
Graduate programs are often very individual experiences. Similarly, there are myriad ways to find graduate schools and programs that fit you and your goals. Without doubt, you should start by talking to your professors, college administration and staff, and anyone else you know that has attended or is currently in graduate school. These individuals can provide you with insights and steer you to some good programs.
Don't stop with personal referrals, however. Search out programs yourself and measure them against those that have been suggested to you. Talk to the faculty, staff, and students of as many programs as you can.
Whenever you contact a graduate school or program, be sure to request their promotional and application materials (the application "package"). Ideas for materials to request can be found HERE. Don't be an anonymous request, however. Ask questions, make conversation, network!
Remember, information is your ally. The more you gather, the more informed your final decision will be.
