Choosing a major
You don't have to show up at Central with your future all mapped out. Most students do not know what they want to do with their lives after high school, and that is as it should be! It is important to be open to new discoveries and new opportunities, and to the possibility of changing course more than once. It is what EXPLORING at Central is all about.

All first year students, sophomores and transfer students who are not ready to declare a major are explorers. Key people to help you explore are your academic adviser, staff of the Career Center, faculty, and upper-level students in majors of interest.

In our office, Karen Eilers is the one to contact with questions about exploring your options and choosing a major. Email a question, set up an appointment, or join the Exploring Experience class (COLL 108), a 1 credit class taught every semester. Everyone's welcome, no matter where you are in the decision-making process!

Here are some links to resources for contemplating your "major" decision.
