Campus Ministries

Growing in knowledge, broadening horizons and deepening faith are all part of the Central College experience. Campus ministries are the organizations and activities that help you on your spiritual journey during your college years. Whether you are new to ministry or continuing in your walk, know that your soul will be fed when you take a journey of faith.

Community Worship
The Worship Planning Team invites you to gather with friends for singing, rejoicing, praying and listening every Tuesday morning. The college community is invited to a time of worship in the Chapel.

The Calm
Sundays at 9 p.m. in the Upper Chapel, Campus Ministries sponsors contemporary music with a message by Chaplain Joel Brummel. Creative worship is planned by the student Worship Planning Team.

ACTION
ACTION is a leadership team of the campus ministry that gives hand and feet to our faith and puts students in action as tutors to local and inner-city youth and as advocates for the poor and less privileged.

Mission trips
Winter and spring mission trips to Mexico, Kentucky, Texas, Mississippi and Arizona provide opportunities to be Christ to the hurting and broken, and also experience other cultures' environments.

Bible studies
You can get involved with numerous Bible studies on campus. These small groups are an awesome way to meet new friends and get deep into God's word. Accountability is the name of this game!

Catholic Campus Ministries
Catholic Campus Ministries meets once a week, rotating through two discussion meetings, social event and one celebration of Mass. Other events include retreats, leadership conferences, campus mass, and faith-sharing Bible studies.

Retreat teams
Retreat teams are ministry groups formed by college students who are excited about ministering to middle school and high school students. Retreat team members plan and lead weekend getaways at Central College that they invite middle and high schoolers to participate in. Some college students will go on to make youth ministry an occupation after their education is over. Others just enjoy serving God in this fun way!

Other Opportunities:

Places of Worship
Pella and the surrounding areas offer many places of worship. See the complete list.

9 – InterVarsity
Hundreds of Central students gather each week to sing and laugh and pray and proclaim the name of Christ at InterVarsity's contemporary services (held on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium). InterVarsity students also participate in Bible studies and service projects.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Athletes with a common bond in Christ praise the Lord and study the Bible through FCA's time of fellowship.
