Central College Dance Team

Auditions

Auditions are open to incoming freshmen who have been accepted for the fall semester at Central and are scheduled for April 9-10, 2010. Learn the audition routine Friday evening and audition Saturday morning. Auditions will require an overnight stay if you do not live in the area.

Rehearsals

We rehearse Monday – Thursday, 4:15 – 6:15 p.m. in the fall semester. Team members come to Central one week prior to classes beginning in Aug. for a week long camp.

Sept. 26 – Coe - Homecoming/Family Weekend
Oct. 3 – Cornell
Oct. 17 – Luther - Senior Clinic – High School girls learn a routine and perform at this game
Oct. 31 – Buena Vista

Other Dance Team Activities/Dates

Nov. 21 - Tommie Invitation Competition at University of St. Thomas.

• In 2008, the Central College Dance Team earned a first place finish in all three categories: pom, hip-hop, and jazz. They were also honored with a plaque for the best performance of the day!

Dec. 4 - ISDTA competition at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

• For the past two years, the Central College Dance Team has earned first place in both Pom and Hip Hop Dance Categories for Division III at the ISDTA competition. Last year was the first year in the Jazz category and the team earned a second place finish.

Feb. 20 - Performances at men's and women's basketball games.
Feb. 20 - Co-ed performance at the alumni basketball game.

Junior Dance Clinic and Central Dance Classic

• Junior Dance Clinic will be held Feb. 13 for K–8th grades. Kids will learn a routine from 12:30–4 p.m.
• Central College Dance Classic will be held Feb. 13 beginning at 7 p.m. at Kuyper gymnasium.

Fundraisers

Fundraisers take place but do not cover all of the expenses.
