Women's golf | July 2, 2014

PELLA — Central College’s Taylor Hill (junior, Treynor) and Chelsey Shuey (sophomore, Ames) are members of the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars team.

To be eligible, players must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Division III players must also have a competitive stroke average of 95.0 or better in varsity meets. There were 664 golfers from NCAA Divisions I, II and III selected, including six from the Iowa Conference.

Hill has a 3.92 GPA with a business management major and an 83.1 competitive stroke average while Shuey has a 3.58 GPA with a secondary education major while averaging 93.8.

It’s the second time that Hill was named to the team and the fourth consecutive year that the Dutch have had at least one player honored.

Both Hill and Shuey were also named to the academic all-Iowa Conference squad last fall.
