PELLA—Central College junior Tyler Lowy (Phoenix, Ariz., Thunderbird HS) debuted at No. 9 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III 197-pound rankings.

Lowy owns a 22-4 overall record following an undefeated Saturday at the Iowa Conference duals with decisions over Shykeem Williams (Dubuque) and Demetrius Heard (Buena Vista). Lowy has recorded a team-best six falls, three major decisions and 12 decisions on the season. He also won the Knox (Ill.) Wartburg’s Puna Soriano (No. 6) and Coe’s Donnie Horner (No. 10) are also ranked at 197.

Four Iowa Conference schools are listed in the team rankings. Defending champion Wartburg remains the top-ranked team and has an individually-ranked wrestler at nine weights. Coe is ranked No. 11, while Luther sits two spots behind at No. 13. Loras cracked the top 30 for the first time this season at No. 28.

The Dutch (4-9 overall, 0-5 conference) duel William Penn (1-1 overall) next Tuesday at Oskaloosa.
