PELLA—The Central College men’s cross country team moved up to No. 31 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.

Central, ranked No. 4 in the Central Region, was No. 32 nationally and No. 3 in the region a week ago and is one of two nationally ranked Iowa Conference teams, trailing No. 26 Wartburg. St. Olaf (Minn.) is the top team in the region, followed by Carleton (Minn.) and Wartburg. Loras and Luther are ranked No. 6 and No. 8 in the region, respectively.

The Dutch competed at the St. Olaf Invitational on Sept. 21 and finished 7th out of 16 teams. Eli Horton (junior, Runnells, Southeast Polk HS) returned after missing the Central Dutch Invitational and led the team with a 15th-place finish.

Central returns to action on Friday at the Wis.-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational in Colfax, Wis.
