PELLA— Central College men’s tennis players Tim Kahl (sophomore, Grinnell) and John Seier (junior, Waverly, Neb.) have been named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District men’s at-large squad.

The team is for male athletes in sports other than football, basketball, baseball and track and field.

Kahl, a math and computer science major, carries a 3.98 grade point average (4.0 scale) while Seier, an accounting major, has a 3.93 GPA.

Kahl played primarily at No. 4 singles for the Dutch, posting a 16-5 record. Seier was 3-1. Kahl and Seier teamed to play No. 2 doubles and were 13-7.

There were five Iowa Conference student-athletes on the 12-man academic squad.

Both are now under consideration for academic all-America recognition.
