PELLA—Central College’s Jacob Winkler (senior, Lancaster, Mo., Schuyler R-1 HS) has garnered all-Iowa Conference basketball recognition for the second time.

Winkler, a 6-5 center, was a first-team pick after being named to the second team a year ago.

Point guard Branden Stubbs (junior, Pleasant Hill, Des Moines Christian HS) was a second-team choice while forward Matt Greenfield (junior, Huxley, Ballard HS) received honorable mention.

Winkler was the conference’s third leading scorer with a team-high 14.9 average. He ranked fourth in the league in field goal percentage (56.5) and was fifth in rebounds (6.7), assists (3.23) and blocked shots (1.09). Winkler posted nine career double-doubles with five this season. His 34 points against Luther placed him inside the top 20 on Central’s scoring leaderboard and he is ninth on the career blocked shots chart (64).

Stubbs was the league’s assist leader averaging 5.38. He was second in free throw percentage (84.1), fourth in steals (1.33) and tied for fourth in scoring (14.5). Stubbs ranks third on the school’s season assists leaderboard (129).

Greenfield registered three 30-point games this season en route to a 14.5 average. He was second in the league in blocked shots (1.67) and fourth in rebounds with a team-high 8.3. Greenfield had four double-doubles.

The Dutch compiled a 10-14 record in coach Craig Douma’s first season.
