Women's basketball | Feb. 11, 2013

PELLA—The Central College women’s basketball team will host its annual “Pink Out” night to raise breast cancer awareness Wednesday, when Loras College visits for an Iowa Conference matchup at 6 p.m. at P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.

The Dutch will be sporting pink warm-up shirts. Fans can get involved by wearing pink, purchasing Jaarsma Bakery cookies and pink ribbons, or by offering a free-will donation. Cookies and ribbons will be sold in the gymnasium lobby, starting at 5:30 p.m. All funds raised will be given to the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation for breast cancer screenings.

“This is a great opportunity for our ladies to give back to the community and to their own family and friends affected by breast cancer,” coach Mike Jacobsma said.

Jacobsma said he and his squad thank Jaarsma Bakery, the Harmeling Imaging Center at Pella Regional Health Center, Sports Page Sporting Goods and team supporters for their donations.
