Central still tops regional men’s cross country rankings

PELLA— The Central College men’s cross country team held the top spot in the sixth week of the regional rankings produced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

It’s the third consecutive week the Dutch have landed the No. 1 ranking in the Central Region. Iowa Conference competitor Loras checked in at third, while Luther and Wartburg were fifth and ninth respectively. Central is also ranked 30th in the USTFCCCA national poll.

The Dutch men placed third in the 26-team field at the Wis.-La Crosse Jim Drews Invitational Oct. 13, behind No. 7 Wis.-La Crosse and No. 23 Wis.-Platteville.

Central is off this weekend and will travel to Cedar Rapids to contest the Iowa Conference championships Oct. 27.
