Men's cross country | Oct. 10, 2012

PELLA— The Central College men’s cross country team slipped in the national rankings, dropping to No. 30 in the NCAA Division III poll produced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Dutch men improved to No. 23 after a solid showing at the prestigious University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational Sept. 29, but were idle last weekend.

Defending champion North Central (Ill.) held the top spot with all eight first-place votes for the 22nd-consecutive voting week. Iowa Conference rivals Loras and Wartburg checked in at 33rd and 35th respectively.

The Dutch will travel to West Salem, Wis. Saturday for the Wis.-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational. The men’s race is slated for 10:30 a.m. while the women will run at 11:30 a.m.
