13 NCAA Div. III individual championships
PELLA—The Central College men’s track and field team is ranked 10th in the ninth week of power rankings released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Dutch slid one notch from last week’s ranking. Meanwhile, the women’s squad dropped out of the top 25 after holding on to No. 24 spot the past two weeks.
McMurray (Texas) is at the top of the men’s list. Iowa Conference rival Wartburg College is rated 18th.
Teams are scored using a points system that objectively measures the top performances across the country in each event.
Central sends 10 athletes in seven events to the NCAA Division III outdoor championships held Thursday through Saturday at Claremont, Calif. Last year Central finished seventh at the national meet. The team captured its fourth straight Iowa Conference title earlier this season.
