ANGOLA, IND.— Central College senior Sarah Paulson (Ottumwa) continued her steady ascent up the leaderboard, moving into a tie for seventh place after the third round of the NCAA Division III women’s golf tourney.

Paulson carded a 76 at the par-72, 5,990-yard Zollner Golf Course and stands at 77-77-76—230, 14-over par. Catherine Wagner of Wis.-Eau Claire is hanging onto first place at 78-71-76—225.

Paulson’s round was the fifth-lowest of the day. She started on the back nine and parred the first six holes, then bogeyed two holes before birdieing the 18th for a 38. The three-time Iowa Conference MVP then finished with a 3-over 39 on the front nine.

In Paulson’s only other NCAA tournament appearance, she tied for sixth as a freshman in 2009 to earn all-America honors.
