Central track and field squads ranked ninth, 14th

PELLA—The Central College men’s and women’s track and field squads are ranked ninth and 14th respectively in the third week of power rankings produced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Teams are scored using a points system that objectively measures the top performances across the country in each event. The rankings for the first three weeks will rely on performances from the previous season in addition to recent performances.

McMurray (Texas) took over the top spot in the men’s rankings while Iowa Conference foe Wartburg retained the No. 1 ranking for the women.

The Dutch men are coming off a victory at the Washington University (Mo.) Inv. April 7 while a partial women’s squad placed sixth. Both teams will compete at the Jim Duncan Inv. this weekend at Drake University.
