PELLA—The Central College women’s soccer squad has received team academic honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Central, led by coach Mike Kobylinski, compiled a 3.25 grade point average (4.0 scale) for the 2011-12 academic year. To earn NSCAA distinction, teams must achieve a 3.0 or better GPA.

It’s the first time the Dutch have received the honor. The squad is one of 497 women’s programs recognized. Iowa Conference foes Luther, Wartburg and Dubuque also received the distinction.
