Sept. 29, 2009Paulson wins league honor again
PELLA—Central College sophomore Sarah Paulson (Ottumwa) is the Iowa Conference women’s golfer of the week.
Paulson is the leader at the midpoint of the 72-hole conference tournament. She broke the league tourney and school 36-hole scoring record, firing 73-72—145 on the par-72 Pheasant Ridge Golf Course Friday and Saturday and leads by three shots over Wartburg’s Ellen Rickert. Paulson is the defending tournament champion.
Central trails Wartburg by two strokes heading into the final 36 holes Friday and Saturday at the Oneota Golf and Country Club in Decorah.
It’s the third time this season that Paulson has received the league honor and the seventh time in her two-year Central career.
