Sept. 15, 2009Central squads sweep Simpson
PELLA—The Central College women’s and men’s tennis squads rolled past Simpson College Tuesday by 9-0 scores.
The Dutch scored 11 straight-set wins in singles plus a forfeit. The Central women improved to 5-2 while Simpson is 2-5.
The Central men are 1-1 in their abbreviated fall schedule.
The Central women continue their four-meet homestand by tackling Division II Truman State Univ. (Mo.) Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Bulldogs shut out Central at Kirksville, Mo. last year, 9-0. Wednesday’s match is Truman State’s dual-season opener.
Both Central squads play host to William Jewell College (Mo.) Friday at 3:30 p.m.
