Sept. 2, 2009Coe shuts out Dutch, 9-0
CEDAR RAPIDS—Defending Iowa Conference champion Coe College rolled past the Central College women’s tennis team 9-0 Wednesday.
Only freshman Jaime Ruisch (Pella) was able to push her opponent to three sets. She battled Sara Ohlman to a 0-6, 6-4, 10-6 decision at No. 6 singles.
It was the season opener for Coe (1-0) while Central dropped to 1-1.
The Dutch return to action Monday at 3:30 p.m., making their home season debut against Graceland. Central fell to the Yellow Jackets last fall at Lamoni, 7-2.
