June 15, 2009Central stages youth camp
PELLA—Central College will stage a youth boys and girls soccer day camp July 13-17.
The camp is for players entering grades 2-9 and will be conducted from 9 a.m.-noon each day at Central’s A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex.
Central head men’s soccer coach Garry Laidlaw and women’s soccer coach Colin Kuchy serve as camp co-directors. They’ll be joined by Central men’s assistant Kyle Halfpop, who also serves as Pella Soccer Club coach. Several Central players will also help provide individualized instruction for each camp participant.
The camp focus will be on technical work and proper development of basic skills including passing and receiving, shooting and finishing, dribbling, defending, heading, goalkeeping, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Cost is $90 and each camper will receive a free camp t-shirt.
Additional information and a camp registration form can be downloaded from the Central athletics Web site at www.central.edu/athletics/camps. For questions contact Laidlaw at (641) 628-5789 or laidlawg@central.edu.
