PELLA—Ryann Engholm (senior, Bloomington, Minn., Thomas Jefferson HS) and Alysha Overturf (senior, Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley HS) have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII softball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Engholm is a first-team selection. She carries a 3.74 grade point average while majoring in exercise science-health promotion. Engholm is batting .353 with five doubles, three triples and three homers while driving in 14 runs.
Overturf is a second-team pick. She has a 3.73 grade point average with a major in exercise science-athletic training and has been accepted into graduate school for physical therapy. Overturf is batting .374 with six doubles, three triples, two home runs and 16 RBIs.
Both Engholm and Overturf were also named to the academic all-Iowa Conference team in previous years.
