April 14, 2009Petersen repeats as league golfer of the week
PELLA—For the second straight week and the sixth time in his career, Central College’s Andy Petersen (senior, Davenport, West HS) has been named the Iowa Conference men’s golf player of the week. Petersen, a two-time Iowa Conference MVP, captured the Wartburg Invitational title last Friday and Saturday. He broke away from a first-round tie for the lead to close with 72-70—142 on the par-72 Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly. It’s his fifth top-10 finish in six fall and spring tournaments this year and his second meet championship.
Central tied for sixth in the 18-team tournament.
Petersen and the Dutch return to action Friday and Saturday at the Buena Vista Invitational at Spencer and Storm Lake.
