MOLINE, ILL.—The Central women’s tennis squad recorded a 5-4 win over Augustana (Ill.) as part of its non-traditional season.
Faith Bliss (junior, Ottumwa), Sara Dale (junior, Marshalltown) and Emily Swartz (freshman, Eldora, South Hardin HS) scored singles wins at Nos. 2, 4 and 5, respectively. Central also was victorious at No. 2 doubles with Dale and Hilary Baehr (senior, Des Moines, Roosevelt HS) and at No. 3 doubles with Swartz and Trinh Le (freshman, Des Moines, North HS).
The match was originally slated to be part of a triangular played in Pella but was moved to indoor courts in Moline, Ill. because of bad weather conditions.
Central is home Wednesday against Wartburg at 4 p.m.
