March 15, 2009Central struggles in exhibition matches
PLANO, TEXAS—In a pair of exhibition matches against Collin County Community College (Texas) Sunday in Plano, Texas the Central College men’s tennis team fell 9-0 while the women’s team lost by a score of 8-1.
Junior Faith Bliss (Ottumwa) was the lone winner for the Dutch, scoring a 5-7, 7-6, 10-7 victory over Collin County’s Marie Liwuslili at No. 1 singles.
The matches were the first outdoor action of the young spring season for the Dutch where the men are currently 3-6. Central will take Monday off before heading to Dallas, Texas Tuesday where the women will face Trinity (Conn.) at 9 a.m., and both teams will take the court against Howard Payne (Texas) at 1 p.m.
