New indoor track nears completion

PELLA--Installation of a Mondo-surfaced 200-meter six-lane track in Central College's H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse is nearing completion.  

The lanes are slightly narrower than with the previous track, which will allow for wider turns. An eight-lane straightaway for sprints is also being added. The new multicolored surface will also feature four red tennis courts Inside the track, with the exterior of the courts in gray. Track lanes alternate between red and gray.

Installation is expected to be finished by Jan. 15, near the end of Christmas break. The track will make its debut with the Central Alumni Meet Jan. 23.
