PELLA—For the second straight year, Central College midfielder Cruz Herr (senior, Cedar Rapids, Kennedy HS) is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-West Region team. Herr is a third-team choice after being named to the second team in 2007.
Earlier, Herr became the third Central player ever to earn all-league recognition four times. After earning second-team all-conference honors in 2005, Herr was a first-team choice for three years.
A team co-captain, Herr had one goal and two assists for the Dutch in 2008. He helped lead the squad to a 7-1 Iowa Conference record, matching league champion Loras College. Central defeated NCAA Division III tournament qualifiers Loras and Wartburg College in a 4-day span as the Dutch compiled a 12-7 overall record.
