PELLA—Three Central College volleyball players received all-Iowa Conference recognition Friday. Outside hitters Miranda Kouba (senior, Dubuque, Wahlert HS) and Michelle Ripperger (junior, Urbandale) were first-team selections while middle hitter Lindsay Jennings (junior, Atkins, Benton HS) received honorable mention.
Kouba was a second-team pick last season. Heading into Friday’s Iowa Conference Tournament, Kouba was averaging 2.29 kills and 3.07 digs while hitting .206. Ripperger was averaging a team-high 2.43 kills with 1.17 digs and a .256 attack percentage. Jennings was at 2.07 kills and 0.89 blocks while hitting .252.
Central, 20-14 overall, posted a 6-2 league record. Central and league champion Loras College were the only two schools to land two players on the eight-player first team.
